About the Artist

I have been working with glass in one form or another for more than 25 years.  I first started with traditional leaded stained glass and quickly fell in love with the process of taking a piece of glass and turning it into a piece of art, much like making a puzzle from scratch but with glass instead of cardboard.  I have made many glass panels, ornaments and lamps over the years for family and friends. More recently I took a class in fused glass (side note: Marty Kremer of Kremer Glass Studio taught me, and continues to teach me, so many of the wonderful fused glass techniques you see in my pieces.  Check out his website, he is amazing!)  I love this medium as there are so many more ways to manipulate the glass and come out with three dimensional pieces that are not only beautiful but functional as well.  I have moved almost entirely to working in fused glass but I do like to dabble with mosaic glass projects as well.  Mosaic's begin with small bits of glass arranged into patterns or pictures which are then grouted together.  It is very fun to see random bits of glass (or other materials such as tile or other ceramics) slowly form into a cohesive picture.  I love all forms of glass and hope you will find something in my gallery that inspires you!
